DIY in Chicago

Many of you probably heard about the City Council proposed Event Promoter ordinance. If you didn't, you can read more about it here > http://savechicagoculture.org/

Basically, the ordinance would've severely discouraged the activities of Chicago's music and live performance destinations by implementing heavy fees and liability insurance requirements on all event promotion. Thankfully, due to a "nearly unprecedented outpouring of concern," according to Jim DeRogatis's Sun-Times blog, the committee has scrapped their plans and are taking it all back to the drawing board.
