Brother Run Them Down

For Steve on his birthday, some Canadian brotherly love.

Come living rites
Come desperation
You are not your generation
Days of doubt can ruin men
Brother run them down
Live and let your hand undo them
Brother run them down
Come working nights
Come paranoia
Come any hard times waiting for you

Tribute 1: Stevie V. He's an honest, lanky fellow with vast love for both The Tragically Hip and Belgian brews. He's a consummate musician, for which I'm grateful, and, as of March 19, he's successfully one year older, and Dallas is a better place for it.

Tribute 2: Bear vs. Shark. Or, more specifically, John from said band, from whom I first heard of Canada's Constantines. Those guys were as friendly as jolly strangers can be. May your post-bvs endeavors find you favor.

Tribute 3: Constantines. Easily one of my favorite bands from this decade, their music is pleasantly rugged, each album thoroughly enjoyable (most notably Shine A Light), their shows full of vitality and fervor. The only problem is they don't tour enough south of Canada.

you salty dogs keep posting Constantine songs and I keep wanting to post one... there is a lot of man-love towards the rock solid group from the north. They own my rock-bones.

SS - clever name...
