how shit-poor does your album have to be to get less than 4 stars from all music guide?
i was a big fan of el perro del mar's first s/t record. the hooks and production sensibility of joe meek and phil spector meets the zen-like repetitions of Sara Assbring (snort)'s peculiar songwriting. these weren't "songs" so much as hooks repeated over and over until they became pop mantras - a power most ably demonstrated in ronnie spector's demand that you be her baby now.
