I didn't discover Arthur Russell until about year ago, but he is already one of my favorite music artists. I will allow you to make your own opinions and comparisons with his wide-ranging music rather than give it all a blanket description. Russell, a cello player from Oskaloosa Iowa, eventually moved to New York, where he would discover disco music and become immersed in the thriving music scene of the seventies. His experimental solo recordings are as impressive as his disco hits and both leave you wanting to know him more. Here is one track that seen a lot of rotation on my stereo lately...
