Seems to be at least partly a nostalgic week, so I've found an oldie. Which only means it's a song released prior to this year. It was warm outside today, the warmest day so far this year. So sunny and pleasant that I nearly forgot to post a song. Yes, I was playing cornhole. Yes, it's a terrible name for a game. But it's a Midwest classic, and today I couldn't stop myself.
I also had felt the need to listen to Clap Your Hands Say Yeah's first record. It was inspired by the warmth. So the title is fitting. The song is a modest builder, and serves as a perfect introduction to the rest of the album. It's actually the second track, but the first one is a goofy circus jig, so I'm sticking with The Cool Goddess as the proper opener.
Mainly, these guys remind me of spring. Here it comes. Also, when I was young I wanted to be a paleontologist. Such a marvelous poster!
And, what the hell, why not give you my favorite song as well, their country hit. Feel free to dance.
