grady martin was a bassist who stumbled across the fuzz effect in '61 i think. the first song he recorded with it was a backing track for a pretty boring country western star so here is a little instrumental song he recorded with his own band that has got some fuzzy bass in it.

here's a song from '38 with the first synthesizer in it, the hammond novachord. i have not been able to find much info about pedro morquecho, but this is apparently a gershwin arrangement. i do not know enough about old shit.
